Keat Properties and KDG aren’t letting Covid-19 uncertainty get in the way of their more than $75 million development in Olivette.

The nearly 15-acre project has grown in scope and scale, but the developers are keeping flexibility top of mind as they grapple with what a post-pandemic world will look like.

The project, now called Olive Crossing instead of the former Gateway Plaza, will feature up to 50,000 square feet of retail, a 160-room, 106,000-square-foot hotel and up to 300,000 square feet of office space at Olive Boulevard and Interstate 170. In total, the project has grown from about 100,000 square feet to more than 400,000 square feet with a substantially larger office footprint. The retail and office portions are flexible to what tenants need, officials said.

The office tower features a limestone base floor with glass upper floors.
Vertical metal fins add texture and movement while decreasing solar heat gain.
