Ranken Makes a Makerspace
Ranken Technical College’s Robert W. Plaster Free Enterprise Center is a 29,000 sq. ft. makerspace with an important twist. It is also a shared incubator and accelerator for entrepreneurial students and companies. The center is all about real world interaction between businesses and students to give them the critical 21st century skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering and math. JEMA’s design deconstructs the makerspace creating a lively angular architecture that opens up to the neighborhood and the college.
L. Keeley Construction served as the general contractor, with a final completion date of November 15, 2019.
