Ranken Technical College continues its expansion with the completion of its latest new technology laboratory: Rodenheiser West, located in their north St. Louis campus. The new 30,500-sq.-ft. facility will provide “hands on” lab and shop space for Ranken’s students.
JEMA’s design centers on a daylighting strategy and features a north facing glass clerestory that runs the entire length of the building. The building envelope and structure are designed to eventually hold six classrooms on a mezzanine level.
The design is a state-of-the-art “hands on” laboratory that anchors the southwest corner of Ranken Technical College’s city campus. A key feature of the new design is a rain garden that also serves as an outdoor gathering space and a terminus to Ranken’s “quad.”
