Making the Ultimate Maker-Space

It was a special occasion today as we celebrated the ribbon-cutting for Ranken Southeast. The new 29,000 sq. ft. ground-up building located in Perryville, Missouri is Ranken’s newest facility. The building is a combination of traditional classrooms, maker-spaces, labs and workshops. JEMA’s design reflects what is being taught inside the building: building technology and advanced manufacturing. The pre-engineered steel structure is exposed on the exterior and the interior along with all the welds and bolted connections. Additionally, the mechanical and electrical systems of the building are exposed. The exhibition of structure and systems makes the building a learning edifice and gives the new student a firsthand look at 21st century building technology.
