Kinetic Park Moves Forward

The St. Charles County Parks Department is moving forward with JEMA’s design for Kinetic Park.  The project will be a major transformation for this youth activity park in Dardenne Prairie, MO.  JEMA’s design for the park’s new structure is a re-interpretation of traditional 18th and 19th Century park pavilions, which were modified and scaled down versions of ancient Greek temples. Like the park pavilions of yesteryear, the Kinetic Park pavilion acts as a gateway into the park, but it also is a café, an office and an indoor sports and fitness activity center.

The new 9,500 sq. ft. building will have a porous ground floor with garage doors that activate the space and bring the park into the building.  Kinetic Park is home to the largest pump track in the United States and the largest outdoor skate park in Missouri.  The project has been featured by the St. Louis Post Dispatch, KSDK’s 5 On Your Side, and Fox 2 Now.
