How Do You Transform The Ordinary Into The Extraordinary?
Ranken Southeast’s new educational facility located in Perryville, MO is an ordinary pre-engineered metal building (PEMB).
But you would not know that from looking at it.
JEMA’s design utilizes the structural frame and roof of a PEMB, but cuts away the sides and the ends. An angled glass volume is inserted into the front side and placed under the structural frame. The glass volume showcases the educational spaces of the building and acts as the entry, inviting prospective students in. The ends of the PEMB are also cut away, exposing the structural beams. Finally, wood planking with vertical slot windows is inserted into the PEMB frame. The end result is the transformation of an ordinary, humble building into something extraordinary.
