The Ballwin community eagerly gathered to celebrate as Police Chief Douglas Schaeffler cut the ribbon for the city’s new Police Station. The ribbon-ceremony was also a powerful tribute to a heroic officer, Mike Flamion, who was severely injured in the line of duty. The station’s address, 302 Kehrs Mill Road, is the same number of Officer Flamion’s serial number.
Equipped with advanced technology, the station ushers in a new era of enhanced safety, protection and service for the Ballwin community. The 3 story facility is a Category IV/Mission Critical police station that is also community friendly. The front lobby leads to a new training room that also acts as a community gathering space.
“Every officer has a DSN, a serial number. 302 is Mike Flamion’s serial number,” Schaeffler said, explaining the new police facility’s address will be 302 Kehrs Mill Road. “I think the officers are going to be very proud of that. It’s another way to honor Mike and everything he’s done for the city and the department.”
