A New Main Street For St. Charles

At just 1,666 feet long, the new extension of Main Street is only slightly longer than a quarter mile, but its future impact will be immeasurable. The new Main Street extension creates an important connection between Frenchtown and the Historic District while opening access to a new riverfront destination and activating the long dormant American Car Foundry district. The area will include a new city hall, community center, senior center, street-level retail, farmer’s market, food hall and pocket park, bringing civic, community, and public spaces together.
