IS YOUR BUILDING BUILT TO LAST?

JEMA’s new fire station for Northeast Ambulance & Fire Protection District is featured in MASONRY, a publication of the Masonry Institute of St. Louis.

The key goals of the district were to build a building that remained operational after a major natural disaster, required minimal maintenance and would last a long, long time.

The new Mission Critical building is structurally “hardened” for seismic and high wind natural disasters utilizing reinforced masonry and steel. The exterior cladding is brick and stone. The interior of the apparatus bay and main hallways are concrete block. Having designed in additional space for future growth, the building is forecast to be adaptable and functional for 100 plus years.
