St. Charles’ Recreation Center Design Is Approved

JEMA’s design for the City of St. Charles’ new Recreation Center has been officially approved. Located within a historic building in the American Car Foundry district, the project thoughtfully adapts an existing structure into an innovative community destination that supports health, wellness, and social connectivity.

The 53,000 square foot, two-level facility will feature a 1/12 mile elevated running track, a state-of-the-art cardio and resistance training area, pickleball and basketball courts, a café, a children’s play area, and an outdoor activity space. Positioned just south of the new City Hall and adjacent to the city’s newest pocket park, the Recreation Center will play a key role in activating the American Car Foundry district and connecting the Historic Main Street and Frenchtown neighborhoods.
