ST. CHARLES FIRE STATION NO. 2

JEMA is bringing another mission critical facility to the region by way of St. Charles City Fire Station No. 2. The City of St.
Charles is investing in its safety and community responsiveness following voter approval of Proposition R in April 2021. Its
municipal leaders have chosen JEMA as designer and architect. Fire Station No. 2 is the highest responding station in
the fire department. The design follows a prototype plan created for the city that maximizes state-of-the-art fire station
technologies and leverages planning efficiencies. The station features two drive-through apparatus bays, living quarters
with individual bunk rooms, offices, and a modern kitchen and dining facility. JEMA’s design for the exterior intentionally
suits the contextual surroundings of the neighborhood – including the color of the brick and the pitch of the roof.

This project is part of the city’s big picture plan to improve its mission critical facilities, which include Fire Station No. 3 and
the police headquarters.
