JEMA’s design for the $6m revitalization of Bonan Towers involved creating a new “face” for the building. A portion of the 2nd floor was removed to create a two-story glass-clad entry atrium. The addition of the atrium, along with a work cafe and conference room, elevated Bonan Towers to a Class A office building.
The exterior is painted three tones of grey that reflect the main building elements: stair and elevator towers are painted dark grey, shear walls are light grey, and the main facade is medium grey. The separate tones work together to crease a cluster of forms that sit prominently at the intersection of two major highways in St Louis, MO.
