Ballwin Police Station

This project is a new, three-level building for the Ballwin City Police Department. The material palette is a wonderful balance of organic and industrial elements that symbolize the unity between Ballwin Police and the community it serves. The stone is symbolic of stability and strength. The visual openness of the glass lobby volume gives a sense of transparency and communication. Wood elements give an air of warmth and is welcoming to the community. The building takes advantage of its solar orientation to the north to flood various spaces with natural light.

The lower level will be primarily secure staff parking but also houses some storage, K9 facilities and a storm shelter. Level 1 contains offices, evidence storage, booking, intake, detention, and the sally port. Level 2 will have more offices, dispatch, meeting rooms, training rooms, fitness, and a break area.
