Heavy Riff Chooses JEMA

Popular St. Louis brewer Heavy Riff Brewing Company has chosen JEMA to design its 24,000 sq. ft. expansion.  The new facility at 4957 Fyler Ave. will be a ground-up construction project and will become Heavy Riff’s flagship tasting room, brewing facility, and main office.  It will be comprised of the following three main parts: a 16,000 sq. ft. brewing, canning, and storage operation, a 4,000 sq. ft. tasting room and restaurant, and a 4,000 sq. ft. indoor/outdoor “room.”  The facility will offer off-street parking and outdoor dining.

The tasting room will feature a signature restaurant where patrons can enjoy pairings of dishes prepared by a prominent local chef and beers brewed onsite.  The indoor/outdoor “room,” featuring impressive 23 ft. high ceilings, will appear to float over a rain garden.  Located at the front of the building facing the street, it will be clad with wooden slats and perforated metal panel screen walls that can be opened with a series of large, pivot doors.

Heavy Riff’s well-known current location at 6413 Clayton Ave. will remain in operation and will soon feature the new addition of an outdoor pavilion, also designed by JEMA.
