City of St. Charles Chooses JEMA For Fire Station No. 3

JEMA has been chosen as the architect and designer of the new ground-up replacement of St. Charles City’s Fire Station No. 3.  The new station follows a prototype plan created for the city that maximizes state-of-the-art fire station technologies and leverages planning efficiencies.  With two drive through apparatus bays, Fire Station No. 3 has the ability to house varying ambulance and firetruck types.  The station’s living quarters features seven individual bunk rooms to accommodate three shifts of fire fighters, offices for fire personnel, as well as a modern kitchen and dining facility.  JEMA’s design for the exterior intentionally suits the contextual surroundings of the neighborhood – including the color of the brick and the pitch of the roof.  This modern station sets the tone for the City of St. Charles’s investment in safety and community responsiveness.

The project is funded by Proposition R, which was approved by voters in April 2021.  Construction is slated to begin 3rd quarter 2022.
