Industrial Aid

The Industrial Aid project is an expansion to a pre-World War II era warehouse building. The new addition features an open floor plan production space with long-span structural bays, high ceilings, skylights, and energy-efficient mechanical and electrical systems. The project includes new break rooms, locker areas and a courtyard with outdoor seating for employees. The entry is highlighted by a new 2 story atrium that also acts as a “community lantern”.

Industrial Aid is a not-for-profit packaging company that employs mentally and physically challenged adults who might otherwise have difficulty finding or maintaining employment. Because of its commitment to the city and surrounding neighborhood, the project was awarded the “Spirit of St. Louis Award” by the mayor’s office. The project also received design awards from AIA St. Louis and the Concrete Council of St. Louis.
