VALLEY PARK FIRE STATION DESIGN MOVES FORWARD

JEMA’s design for Valley Park Fire Protection District’s new Fire Station No. 2 has been approved and is moving forward. The 22,000 sq. ft. Category IV, Mission Critical facility is scheduled to begin construction in the fourth quarter of 2020.

The design is inspired by the integration of the District’s program and the sloping site. The building is “built into” the hill and slopes downward as does the slope of the site. The high point of the site is also the high point of the building. We are reminded of this quote: “No house should ever be on a hill or on anything. It should be of the hill. Belonging to it. Hill and house should live together each the happier for the other.” – Frank Lloyd Wright
