JEMA Mentors High School Students for Northside Regeneration Design Challenge
JEMA’s Jon McKee and Jon Emert were honored to mentor two high school groups from Metro Academic High School during the 3rd annual Project Design Challenge sponsored by the Northside Regeneration Project and M Property Services. Teams were presented with a streetscape design challenge in an underutilized area of North St. Louis City. Teams developed presentation boards and a physical model to present to a jury consisting of local design professionals, city leaders, and Olympic Champion Jackie Joyner-Kersee. Congratulations to the team mentored by JEMA’s own Jon McKee who took home the first place gold medal award for their design.
This is JEMA’s third year mentoring St. Louis high school students. This competition is a great way for students to learn about architecture, planning and construction. We look forward to mentoring our students next year and taking home the gold again!
