NISC Breaks Ground

NISC, National Information Solutions Cooperative, is an information technology company that develops and supports software and hardware solutions for utility cooperatives and telecommunications companies across the nation. We broke ground on their new headquarters this October.

The building is a 44,000 sq. ft., two-story addition to their existing 145,000 sq. ft. corporate headquarters. John Mueller of JEMA lead the design team back in 2003 when NISC re-located to Lake Saint Louis.

The new addition’s second floor is designed as an open office with a central spine of collaborative “lounges.” Understanding the vital role natural  light plays in our work lives, JEMA designed all the interior office walls as floor to ceiling glass. Multiple skylights are also placed throughout the space bringing in an abundance of sunlight to every area of the office. The first floor is dedicated to NISC’s printing and inserting technology. State-of-the-art industrial printing and inserting machines will operate in an environmentally and acoustically controlled environment.

Footnote: We know this is nerdy, but kudos to the United Construction team for exceeding the ASTM E-1155 Standard for Determing Floor Flatness. It is important to recognize quality craft when we see it!
