JEMA had its annual Spring retreat in the Missouri countryside. Our annual retreats are focused on JEMA’s “meta-goals”: bringing joy to those we work with and making award-winning architecture. We spent time as a team canoeing, kayaking, fishing, hiking and sitting around a campfire telling stories. JEMA’s focus on “bringing joy” may sound corny and old fashioned, but it is our single most important goal. In nearly 10 years as a business, we have had only one employee leave.
