The City of Cape Girardeau's Fire Station No. 1 and 2 are legacy stations constructed nearly 30 years ago. JEMA is renovating each station and adding much needed improvements including new sleeping quarters, refurbished day rooms and kitchens, and additional support spaces.

A new, ground-up vehicle maintenance facility, "the Annex", is being constructed behind Fire Station No. 2 which will allow for the department to service their apparatus and trucks in a state-of-the art environment. The Annex is 10,000 sq. ft. and contains four 80 foot long bays, a fitness center, work shop, office suite and storage mezzanine.

A new 5,000 sq. ft. addition is being added onto Fire Station No. 1. The new structure provides much needed additional functionality. It houses a new fitness center, decontamination, extractor/laundry area and space for 40 gear turn-out lockers.
